If you believe the people should have a chance to vote on this $6 billion-plus public works development (not transit) project, your help is needed.
This is the only chance you will have to stop this financial disaster. Please dont ignore the opportunity.

HOT Lanes Can Be Built for Less Than $900 Million
By Cliff Slater, HonoluluTraffic.com
We at HonoluluTraffic.com have recently worked with Figg Bridge Engineers, Inc, of Tallahassee, Florida, the designers of the Tampa Expressway and currently building the new Minneapolis bridge to replace the one that collapsed.
The result of those conversations is that we now believe that the 12-mile two-lane HOT lanes facility can be built on Oahu for less than the $900 million we had originally contemplated.
As you know, we had estimated the costs of the HOT lanes, the alternative to rail, at $900 million. The Mayor and his client-focused consultants, Parsons Brinckerhoff, said it would cost the absurd amount of $2.6 billion and was therefore not feasible.
For confirmation of these projected costs we invite you to discuss the issue in writing with Ms. Linda Figg, President/CEO of FIGG Bridge Engineers, Inc., whose email address is figg@figgbridge.com
The bridge, elevated highway, and light rail designs of Figg Bridge can be found at their website, http://www.figgbridge.com
