PAYCHECKS HAWAII endorses
Congressman Ed Case for U.S. Senate
PAYCHECKS HAWAII announces its endorsement of Democrat Congressman Ed Case, for the United States Senate. It is the first of several contested primary endorsements to be made by PAYCHECKS HAWAII.
PAYCHECKS HAWAII spokeman, JS Services business owner Jack Schneider, said, "While the majority of our endorsements are made for state office, we believe that the race for U.S. Senate is critical to Hawaii-and to small business. Of all the candidates for this office this year, we believe the business community would best benefit from the election of Congressman Case. From the time he was in the State House of Representatives, Ed Case has been independent, energetic, accessible to small business, has worked hard for beneficial jobs legislation while advocating reforms to help lower the cost of doing business in Hawaii. We think he is the best candidate and join with other business organizations to urge employers, employees and all voters to support Ed Case for Senate."
PAYCHECKS HAWAII has several key functions: (1) each year after the state Legislature adjourns, it rates each of the 76 state legislators on their support for small business during the Session. Lawmakers are rated, regardless of political party, from #1, "most supportive and outspoken advocate for a better business climate," to #5, "least supportive of small business and an improved Hawaii business climate." (Ratings appear in the June issue of Small Business News and online at www.SmallBusinessHawaii.com.); (2) to identify, encourage, and support the candidacy of business-experienced candidates for elective office, regardless of political party; (3) to endorse candidates for office, regardless of political party affiliation and (4) to sponsor community meetings and debates between candidates in order to educate and inform the community regarding business and other important issues.
PAYCHECKS HAWAII, the private, independent, non-partisan political action affiliate of Small Business Hawaii (SBH), founded in 1984 by Lex Brodie and Sam Slom, is dedicated to improving Hawaii's business climate. PAYCHECKS HAWAII is politically active, in a non-partisan manner, every two years during Hawaii's state election cycle.
