Hawaii's Forgotten History 1990 - 1999 is Published

Longtime SBH member and author, Rich Budnick of Aloha Press, has published his latest book, Hawaii’s Forgotten History 1900 – 1999: The Good...the Bad...the Embaras-sing. The book is the first major timeline history to document 2,001 important events of 20th century Hawai’i.Most events are little known and long forgotten.

Budnick compiled the historic Hawaii events from 300 books and 8,000 newspapers. The book includes topics such as government and politics, Hawaiiana, ethnic history, education, labor, business, crime and much more.

There’s a list of 100 major and little known events and a short chapter entitled, “I Couldn’t Resist.” The book includes 50 photos and a chart on the Big 5 called “Power in the Hands of the Few.”

This is Budnick’s 4th Hawaiiana book. His other history books are: Hawaiian Street Names, Maui Street Names, and Stolen Kingdom.
