Hundreds of people showed up at St. Andrews Cathedral on Friday, June 11 to pay a final tribute to President Ronald Wilson Reagan. The celebration of the 40th President's life culminated in an outpouring of floral gifts from the public laid before a photo of the departed leader. Tribute to President Ronald Reagan
More than five hundred people paid their last respects to President Ronald Reagan at St. Andrews Cathedral on Friday, June 11. The two-hour long tribute to Americas 40th president, who passed away on June 5, featured speakers who knew him. They included former City Councilman and White House Fellow Mufi Hannemann, Retired Navy Captain Gerald Coffee, and the Governors Senior Policy Advisor Linda Smith, who worked in the Presidents Office of Management and Budget from 1980 to 1982. SBH President & CEO Sam Slom was the master of ceremonies.
Members of the public had the opportunity to honor the former President by presenting flowers and lei at the end of the ceremony. Significant gifts included a Steering Koa Canoe Paddle, Hawaiian Paniolo Hat and Feather Lei, a Hawaiian Ukulele, and a Kukui Nut Lei which was presented by Lt. Governor James Duke Aiona and his wife in acknowledgment of President Reagans work in healing the world from communism and terrorism. The guest registry as well as all the gifts will be sent to the Reagan Presidential Library in California.
SBH members contributing to the tribute included Helen Morita, Dale and Darci Evans of Charleys Taxi, Malia Zimmerman, Jay McWillams and Laura Brown of Hawaii Reporter, Syl and Mike Kop of Hula Supply Center, Jerry Stanfield of Jerry Stanfield Productions, Gary Sport Fruth of Big Red Q Printing, Cindys Lei Shop, Signs by DEY, Grassroot Institute of Hawaii, Melvin Ah Ching Productions and Small Business Hawaii.

US Department of Interior's David Cohen to Speak
Small Business Hawaii & Grassroot Institute Host Special Event
Small Business Hawaii and the Grassroot Institute of Hawaii are sponsoring a unique small business development luncheon featuring David B. Cohen, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Interior.
The luncheon will be held at the Pacific Club, 12 noon (till 1:45 pm) , Thursday, July 8. The cost of the luncheon (paid in advance) is $30; $35 at the door if space is available. (Checks should be made out to Grassroot institute of Hawaii).
