No New Taxes! No New Taxes!

About 200 supporters rallied at the State Capitol early Thursday morning (April 17) against the State Legislature's proposal to raise more than $400 million in new taxes. Increases to the General Excise Tax, a new 1% county sales tax, a regressive payroll deduction tax to finance long term care and an increase to the motor vehicle registration fee were all points of contention among the business owners and citizens who came out to protest. KHVH's Rick Hamada broadcast his radio show live from the capitol featuring a bevy of special guests throughout the morning.
