Bob Sigall's "The Companies We Keep"
Just in Time For Holiday Season

The Companies We Keep Bob Sigall, Creative-1 owner and SBH Director, will publish his long awaited book, "The Companies We Keep," a history of Hawaii businesses, December 1. SBH assisted in publishing the book ã the most definitive history of business origins and anecdotes in Hawaii.

The book describes the origins and quirks associated with locally grown Hawaii businesses of all sizes. It profiles over 500 well-known Hawaii companies, with interesting stories and facts, such as:

Which bank was founded with a parade of gold coins through downtown Honolulu in 1897? Why does Lex Brodie say, "thank you very much?" Why is Tripler Hospital painted pink? Which dairy was L&L Drive-Inn named for? Why did they name it "Zippy's?"

The answers to these and other questions can be found in Sigall's book. This is the first book to assemble a collection of fascinating stories about the companies and organizations ã including SBH ã we patrionize every day in Hawaii.

The $20 book will be available for $15 to SBH members. Call SBH or Bob at 847-2046 for more information, orders and discounts for SBH member firms. The book will make an excellent seasonal stocking stuffer.
