Small Business Hawaii Annual Conference Small Business Hawaii's annual conference was held on January 8 in the Ala Moana Hotel. The keynote speaker was Governor Linda Lingle, who outlined her plans for helping small businesses and improving the economy. The day's program also included City Prosecutor Peter Carlisle, Executive Director of the State Campaign Spending Commission Bob Watada, Small Business Success stories, a legislative panel moderated by KHVH radio's Rick Hamada and a City Council panel moderated by Hawaii Reporter's Malia Zimmerman. In the awards ceremony, Andy Mertz of Andy's Pool Service was named the Small Business Person of the Year. The following sections contain photo albums highlighting the conference events.
